I am so excited for Christmas, everything about Christmas is a thrill for me.
I have watched ELF 5 times already. Fred Clause, and all 3 Santa Clause movies at least twice now!

My oldest daughter works for a chain grocery store here called Fred Meyer, she gets a discount which is awesome. She brought me home this Christmas creamer to enjoy this morning. She is a good girl. My favorite Christmas flavor is Peppermint!

My daughter took this photo of me, I was singing in the car, to my Steven Curis Chapman of coarse, dropping her off and onto work for me. I like this photo, because as I was singing to the Lord, I was really enjoying that sunlight streaming in around me.

Prayers for our children

To me, parenting was much simplar when my girls were younger. I homeschooled up until 4 years ago. Then, due to financial reasons, and my in-laws not being able to help out anymore, I enrolled all of them into school.

I still think about Homeschool every day, every day! I now have 3 teens in my home. And the difference is astounding. My 17 yr old is really going thru alot, and all I can do is pray! PRAY!

Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands towards Him for the sake of your children! Lam 2:19

Acrylic Nails No More

I have had acrylic nails for 20 yrs. I know, right? I am tired of going in every month, and spending the money was not fun either. I didn't think my nails had a chance, I thouht they would be damaged for good. But, I found something that the really has healed my nails.

I am very pleased to say I have been saving $20 a month on acrylic nails

Beach House is ready

This is our beach house, we were so blessed to come into a good deal, we couldn't pass it up. The market in this beach town is for the buyer.

We havebeen renters of this place for 6 yrs. And our friends are moving, can't hang onto the place. So they offeredit to us for thousands lower than its worth.

We have spent the last several weeks remodeling and turning it into a more family friendly place for people to rent as well.

I took this photo last week. This is Ocean Park. Hubby and I take our children here often, of the coastal places here inthe Northwest, we find this beach the safest, and most peaceful for our family!

And great news, the Lord in His awesomeness opened a door for hubby and I to purchase a beach house here. We had been dreaming about it for about 6 yrs now!!!

We have been going there for weeks now, updating it. I will share pictures as soon as I can.

LONG VACATION

Well just got back from vacation, still have so much to do, but I really wanted to share at least a few highlights of my trip. Of coarse the NASCAR race was amazing, and 24 won, he is my favorite.

I was able to meet up with two sweet, dear friends I grew up with and the my precious Aunt and Uncle (standing in front of the Coca Cola building)

And, my family is about to head to my home town in Arizona. We first attend the Nascar race and then a big family reunion. I will be sharing alot of pictures when I get back!!!!

TobyMac Concert

We suprised our 11 year old with a Toby Mac Concert for her birthday, she really loves him. And I have to say, though I don't listen to him often, I was very impressed with him and his crew. I would say best concert to date (other than Steven Curtis Chapman) but no one could ever top him :)

Brandon Heath was his open act, and a bunch more my style, he too, did really well. If you have a chance to see them I highly recommend it!

Well, hubby and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year. We were married in my hometown of Globe Arizona. And we both love NASCAR, so....... with the help of my dear, sweet in-laws (who purchased the race tickets) as an anniversary gift we are heading to Phoenix for the race WOOHOO, 3 full days of NASCAR--oh yea baby.

Then we head to Globe and visit with my family and friends for a week. I am so thrilled, also really craving that AZ sun

Last night I tried a new crock pot recipe, and my family loved it!

Creamy Crock Pot Beef Stew

1lb beef Stew Meat
1/4 c. flour
2 cans Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 1/2c. potatoes, peeled and diced
1 (5oz) can mushrooms, drained

**In small bowl, add flour, coat meat in flour, then transfer to crock pot. Add potatoes and mushrooms. Mix soup and 2 cans of water, add to crock pot. Cover and cook low 6 to 8 hrs or high 4 hrs. Serve over noodles or rice!

We are back from the Rod Run! It was so much fun and awesome to get away! We always meet up with our older friends, Gary and Doris, who are a hoot! They are both in their 70's and are just alot of fun to be around.

The top picture is of my Nephew and my oldest daughter! My nephew wanted to drive my daughters' truck so bad, so I let him. He did a good job.

It is good to get back home to. I like routine, and now we are trying to settle into one!

A Get-Away

If you have been reading my blog for awhile now, you know that I LOVE Steven Curtis Chapman! He is my all time favorite. You may remember also, that his family lost their youngest daughter to a tragic accident! Well, this book by his wife is my read for our 5 days away!

Hubby and I are ready to leave to the Washington Coast for 5 days. We do this every year for time with one another, and let me tell you... it is needed. A dear friend of mine stays with our girls, and my in laws keep watch of the place too!

While away we enjoy the biggest Car Show this side of the Country and just enjoy ourselves! Please pray for hubbs and I, and the safety of our kids!

For those who don't know, I work at our Church as an Administrative Assistant to our Pastors. Friday was one of the gals last days because she is having a baby. So all of us girls took her to The Portland Rose Garden to eat a picnic lunch, we then took a tour of The Pittock Mansion. Which was amazing. I will try to get a few more interior photos up.

And, I am the proud grandmother of a new Mini Schnauzer. Our friends used our male as "stud" services and I get to pick a little one from the group for his use!

Our 1966 Mustang

Well, it is Car Show season here. So hubby and I are busy. We have 4 hot rods that we show. They belong to each of our daughters. But, they can't drive yet, so we enter them.

We go just about every week end, my hubby and I go to pass out fliers for OUR car show. Yep, we put on a car show thru our church, it raises money for back packs and school supplies for children in our community. We love doing it, and have found ourselves so blessed along the way!

My brother-In-Law, John has gone home to be with Jesus. He was an amazing father, husband, and friend! We all walked thru a long ordeal with him, He having the greatest faith of us all!! I so admire this man, and the life he lived! He now rests with our Saviour, I can't wait to see him again!

The girls are out of school, and into the "summer" swing of things. Playing in the pool all day long.

I have started at work again. Work a few full days a week. Just enough for now. I am enjoying working with the Pastoral staff again.

I must admit though, like my sisters over at the SugarPie Farmhouse, I am craving FALL!!!!

One of my favorite scriptures! Life has changed alot around here. My brother-in-law continues his battle with cancer, not looking well at all. He doesn't get around very much, and isn't really retainging much either. Please continue praying for him, my sister and the kids.

Our squirrel has a new home. I had a gal come get him that has Squirrel rescue. She has a room just for them. He is doing well.

The church called me back to my Administrative Assistant job, I was laid off 2 yrs ago. I have been waiting for this call. I am excited!!!

The girls only have 17 days of school left and our weather sucks!!! We have been raining for days and days. Yuck. Everyone is depressed, the weather is so gloomy!

Well, our momma kitty had kittens about 2 weeks ago.

One morning at 6 a.m. I got up to let the dogs out, and was greeted by our cat on the deck with 5 dead kittens, disturbing I know!!!

But then, a day later, the girls called me while I was at my Friday night scrapbooking get-together! "Mom--the cat is having kittens, what should we do?"

And here they are just as cute as can be!

This is what shopping for a family of 6 looks like. This is the big shopping trip. We average $350- for the big one, this doesn't include the simple neccesities.

Update on family......well.....a miracle for us.

My brother-in-law had his surgery and he is doing so well. His surgeon called hima miracle. One hour after he was gabbing wildly and his co-ordination was better than before the surgery!! Our family is truley blessed by God!!!

I need for everyone to pray for my brother-in-law John. His brain tumor has come back. His doctor has given him 6 months to live without the surgery and 1 yr to live if he has the surgery. My sister is a mess. The kids are in terrible shape.
But, John believes in his healing!

Look what I found when i was doing yard work this week-end!!

I do not know what it is, but stray animals always end up on our little farm. This baby squirrel was screeching so loud. As I looked over he was going from chicken to chicken. I think he was looking for his momma. I left him alone for some time. But, no momma showed up, evening was nearing, and if I didn't do something, either my dogs or coyotes would get the little thing. I walked up to him, he walked right into my hands. We have been taking care of him ever since. I will post more pictures when I get them.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!

My hubby brought me home the movie the other day, and I have watched it everyday since. I love this story. I know the movie is "hollywoods' version" of the story but still I believe Hollywood did it justice!!!!!

And of coarse Sandra Bullock did an amazing job. She is my favorite--favorite! God bless her as she goes thru this very public controversy!!

Anyways, go get the movie and enjoy it!

A Broken Finger

Well, daughter #3 broke the tip of her finger. She was at her "after-school" basketball practice, when another student slammed the door on her finger.

It developed like a blood pocket around the finger nail, so the dr. drilled a small hole in the middle of the finger nail and drained it.

X-rays showed the very tip of her finger was broken. My girl was brave. She was more enthrolled with how they burned the little hole than anything else!

Finally, Gramma Scrapbooks

It took me long enough, But I finally convinced Gramma she needs to scrapbook all of her wonderful pictures and stories. She has so many of them from the turn of the century. Gramma is 81 yrs old. And she has so many memories to share.

Mom & I attended the CKC Portland Show this past Friday. I only got one photo, and I am thrilled that is was with Melissa Frances. As I stubbled to her booth, I thought it may be her, but not sure, I visit her blog every morning, I just love the stuff on there. Please visit it.

but I had a question, so I decided to ask about one of the products, and how to use it, adhere it, preserve it, she answered every question I had. She was personable and sweet as can be, if you have ever been to one of these shows, it is difficult to get this much attention for something, but she made it happen. Made me like her all the more!

Hallmark movie Anniversary

This is my oldest daughter with the Star of the movie "Chris Klein"
We bought this beautiful Hot Rod in 2005, 2 days after we bought it, the President of our Car Club called and explained to us that there was a gentleman interested in using our car for a Hallmark movie.

Well long story short---we signed a contract with Hallmark and they used our car for the opening seen in the movie "VALLEY OF LIGHT" starring Chris Klein. We were invited on set the day is was being filmed in Woodburn, Oregon. It was a wonderful experience. I took 5 rolls of film for an 8 hr shoot. But my children (and me too) were thrilled with the whole experience.

Oh and I highly recommend the movie. Hallmark produces some very family-friendly and enduring stories, this is one of them.

A Yummy Dinner---EASY

Here lately I have been helping Hubby get the Hot Rod ready for the Sand Blaster. So I run in to make dinner, I need a FAST one to make.

My family loves chicken, and Alfredo Sauce, so I had made a batch of sauce up and froze it earlier in the month. Made some Whole Wheat Noodles to serve the Alfredo Chicken over, then made "Garlic Butter Monkey Bread" which is so easy too.

And to top it off we had Salad. Made this dinner in 30min with the correct preperation ahead of time. YUMMY!

I have been decorating for Valentine's Day. Not much, but I had to show the two projects I have been working on.

The hearts i purchased at JoAnns' fabrics, I then took Glitter Glue and made the initials on each of them. Then hung them from a picture tree and put them in this plant container.

I love this picture frame. I bought it at a garage sale, I made the chalk board back for it to use this very way. It usually hangs in the girls' hallway, but I thought it would look cute here on the Computer desk in this display!!

My Dream Home

Ok I have to be honest, I love this movie.
Sandra Bullock is my favorite actress. BUT, this movie captures some things I really love. No, I am not into the witchcraft. I hate this part of the movie. But, I love the story line, of the Sisters, and how much they love one another and stand for each other. But, that is not why I love the movie.

I love it for this!!!! I love this house!! My dream house! This movie was filmed here in my home state. Washington. It was filmed on Whidby Island. Which is a few hours away from me. This explains why I love the setting and the weather of this movie so.

But, the kitchen is my FAVORITE! Oh my, look at this!!! I wan this kitchen

The kitchen is amazing. Could you imagine spending your days in here, cooking, baking, creating memories! Oh I can. I paused this movie a hundred times so hubby could see what I wanted to build!!! He wasn't much into it. Oh well, I was!!!

I have to admit, I watched the movie and fell in love with the clothing!!! The Sisters & the Aunts maintained a Romatic feel thru the whole movie with their clothing. I LOVE Sandra Bullock, so of coarse I preferred her outfits. dreamy!!!

More Christmas Decorations

This basket was given to me by my sister-in-law a few years ago. And the Mary & Joseph came from my Mother-in-law.

This snowman Tin I picked up at JoAnns fabrics, Snowmen is my "thing" My brother got me the candle when he visited for Thanksgiving. The dish and sparkling balls came from the Craft Wharehouse.

The Snow Couple on the bottom was made for me by my Mother-In-Law the year I married 1991. And the crate my hubby has had forever, it belonged to his Grandfather.

So, here are a few more of my decorations.

This is what the inside looks like, then I placed a Gift Certificate for dinner to their favorite place----Hula Boy Grill

My sister-in-law and her husband went to Hawaii erlier this year. So, in honor of their trip (they are still excited) I made them a few gifts using the photos that their daughter snuck to me.
First, this is a little gift box I picked up, painted, applied Hawaiian themed cardstock and decorations.

This is the outside, sorry the pictures are kinda crappy.

Then I picked up a fairly in-expensive clock and made them this using photos from their vacation. I thought it turned out cute. I always prefer making my gifts, and being a scrapbooker, these gifts are the type I love to make.

This is my kitchen. It's RED, and I love it. My favorite is the Retro double oven, push in Frigidaire Stove. My oldest daughter & I just got the ornaments hung from the ceiling light over the island. I LOVE MY KITCHEN!!

Multnomah Falls

I am Thankful for "The man I get to grow old with" He provides for us, he loves us, he protects us, he is my gift from God.

Thankful for these sweet friends. Rin is the mother that I don't have. She and her hubby are so good to us, and their grandson is SO the Son I never had!!!

I am Thankful for these 4 beautiful little women. They are "the morrors to my soul" they bring me my joy everyday. They ARE my precious gifts from Above.

Most of all, I am thankful to a Father God who loved me so much he sent his beloved son Jesus, so that I might be saved. Jesus is my precious Saviour and I am here all because of HIM!!!

We had a deck that wasn't closed in, and was really not getting much use. It was very big. My house was built in 1930, so the dining room and family room run together. Makes it hard to entertain when everyone is stuffed into a small space. So, I put out an idea to hubby about enclosing the un-used deck and turning it into the new family room. Well, he sat on it for months, I waited, and waited, then one day he thought of this great idea, and began working on a new family room.

Sorry this is blurry, but this is the TV corner, and if it was a clearer day you could see Mt. St. Helens right out those windows, we have a very clear view of that Mt.

Mine and hubby love seat.

The corner the girls love to sit in, the fireplace we got at an auction for $35 it is so warm.

I laid the hardwood floor with my hubby, not easy work being on my knees the whole time, but oh so worth it.

So, this is mainly why I haven't been around, once hubby got started, I needed to help him get it finished!!! What a lucky girl I am.

Well, my 15 yr old got her permit. And is now driving. She looks for any excuse to have us go on small errands. She is so funny.

I received this gift from my Secret Sister over at Sugar Pie Farmhouse. My birthday was the 15th. But, my daughters received the package while I was out of town, slid it behind our loveseat and I didn't find it for several days.

I was so thrilled to get the Celebrate magazine, FULL of eye candy and the Red/White polka dotted cup full of goodies was the other part of the gift. It was a wonderful day for me!!!

My hubby and I attended the Rod Run to The End of The World!!! We spent 4 days at the beach, it was wonderful. I needed the time away. After all the medical issues I have been dealing with, this was a nice time away!!! I still am trying to get back into the swing of things!!!

I found these chicks yesturday. These 4 were running after their mother, but somehow escaped out of the fence. I must have loked so funny chasing after them, getting them back with their mama.

We didn't think we got any this year because early in the summer we found that the rats had taken many of the eggs and ate alot of these little guys.

This is my baby brother, he is 32, but he'll always be the baby. I just found out he and his son are coming here to spend Thanksgiving with us! WooHoo! I love this photo because the WELCOME sign above my head, he bought for me from Astoria, Oregon. We took him to the beach, as we were shopping I saw this sign, and was making over it, my baby brother bought it for me!!! I am blessed!

HEAT WAVE

I posted this because right now in our Region we are in a heat wave. YUCK!!! Yesturday the temp was 103, today it got up to 105, they think tomorrow will be 107. We ae breaking records, our typical weather for his ime of year is 98.

So, I am really wishing we were at our favorite beach spot, running thru the waves............

My favorite Aunt came into town from Arizona, she brought her kids, and we had a blast. they had never been to the beach so we took them there for a few days, it was so fun, but I miss her so much.

Isn't this photo beautiful, a dear friend took this photo at my favorite beach. Which is where me and my family are headed for Memorial Day week-end. After our dog passing away, and several other things happening, we sooooo need this trip.

I have been busy with the girls' with getting them ready for end-of-school time. My second daughter tried out for her middle school drill team and made it, so I have been the mom helping out.

We marched in a 7 mile parade here, it was hot, and I got blisters. But, my daughter did awesome. I will post pictures as soon as I can.

Good bye to a sweet doggie named A.S.K.M

This is/was our chow chow A.S.K.M. he was named for the 4 initials of our girls names. We lost him this last Tuesday, while the kids were in school.

Daughter #4 posing with him. He was so good to our girls, he was very gentle with them.

This was his girl!!! Daughter #3 and he were the best of friends, they played together everyday, I have found them several times laying on the deck together, she talking to him, and he just listening.

And here he was the 3 of them, they were all playing and our friend stopped them all to take this picture.

He was struck by a car and passed 10 minutes later. We didn't know it, but he had dug a whole in the back yard and escaped under the fence. All done with in 20 minutes. I found him sitting in the front yard, trying to breathe just a minute after being hit, the woman who hit him stopped and offered her apologies. She was crying and shaking, she didn't see him.

I am praising God that all this took place just minutes before our girls were due home. When he started gasping for breath we rushed him to our emergency vet. He passed just as we coming thru the doors. I knew he was, I prayed in his ear, and released him. The vet was so good to us and offered to take care of his remains so that our children didn't see him in this condition. Plus hubby was so broken hearted he couldn't of buried him.

Well, the girls are now better, we had a hard few days. So we are starting new week, and hopefully one on a much brighter note.

It is finally Spring here, rainy, but Spring has sprung. I love the flowers peeking through everything.

We are also on springbreak here, already had an overnighter with 9 little girls here, which are all about the ages of 8 to 14. Lotsa drama.

I am waiting for them all to head back to school and then I am going to tackle our yard, front and back, I want to trim everything back, and bring some of that beautiful color out.

Hope eveyone out there in blogland is doing awesome. Oh, I have discovered Facebook, and can't stay away from it, so it seems to take alot of my time away fromthis blog, what do I do???

Back from the beach and home with a sicky

We are back home from our beach trip...it was wonderful. It stormed the whole time, which left us in the cabin, catching up on each other, our girls, church, up coming car shows, and cuddling. We actually made all of our meals also, well, we did go out for Clam Chowder the night of our Anniversary. It was wonderful......just having time with my best friend.

Back into reality, got home and daughter #4 is sick. But it has given us time to each other, I don't get chores done when they are all sick, but I get to spend time just catching up with their little lives. I love it.

Anyways, no signs of spring here yet!!

Hubby and I celebrate our 18th Anniversary on the 16th, but we are so blessed we get to go to the beach this week-end, we get to stay until Wed. the 18th. WooHoo!!! I am so looking forward to it.
